The GoAround
The GoAround
The GoAround, a Philadelphia based rock group fronted by Brothers Alexander And Anthony Saddic, will be taking the upstairs stage at World Cafe’ Live in Philadelphia. Heartside, an Easton Maryland based rock group, will be kicking off the night, followed by Katie Buxton, a Suburban Philadelphia native turned Nashville Folk singer/songwriter. The proceeds of this event will benefit WXPN Musicians On Call, which brings musicians to perform for patients in local hospitals. The concert is taking place in honor of local musician and former guitarist of The GoAround, the late Bradley Thompson. In addition to ticket revenue, The GoAround will be donating 100% of their merchandise sales on the night of the show to WXPN Musicians On Call.

“We have chosen confidently for WXPN Musicians On Call to benefit from the charitable efforts that we are making in honor of our dear friend Bradley Thompson because we believe strongly in the work that they are doing. Music has been a driving force behind our recovery from nearly every hardship we have ever encountered and is equally our means of celebrating and uncovering great joy within ourselves and those around us. The fact that this organization understands the power of music and is using it to bring joy to the people who stand to benefit from it most is admirable and renders them worthy of all of the support that they can get. We have heard impactful stories from our friends who are active participants in these performances and we hope for opportunities in the near future to become involved in some of them ourselves. By simply coming to the show and having a good time with us, anybody can play a role in spreading the music, and hopefully they will return home that night knowing that they were a part of something good.” - The GoAround
Katie Buxton
Music has been a part of Katie Buxton’s life since the beginning. Her journey in song began with humming in the car before she could talk. Throughout elementary and middle school she was trained in voice and guitar and continued her musical training and experimentation in high school with rock bands, songwriting, and Berklee’s Five Week Performance Program, where she was a finalist in the Songwriting Showcase and received mentorship from singer/songwriter Melissa Ferrick and Sally Taylor, songwriter and daughter of James Taylor.

Katie moved from her hometown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Nashville, Tennessee in 2014 to attend Belmont University for Songwriting. In the fall of 2015 she was accepted into Belmont’s Bear House Writer Management as well as the ASCAP Writers Showcase and started recording her first EP. In April of 2016 she was one of ten to work with and receive songwriting critiques from Desmond Child for two days; the same year, she was chosen as a finalist in the 2016 American Songwriting Awards with her song "Painted Hearts", and in September 2016 played Unify Fest with Trevor Hall and Mike Love. With the release of her single "You Flew", she was featured as a New & Notable artist on NoiseTrade and has reached over 200,000 streams on Spotify. In October 2016, Katie performed as a semi-finalist in the Music City Big Break Concert Series and just a few days later made her debut at the world famous Bluebird Cafe. Katie tours the U.S. regularly and has shared the stage with several accomplished artists and songwriters, including Lewis Watson, John Paul White (previously of The Civil Wars), ACM Song of the Year winner Natalie Hemby and #1 writers Heather Morgan and Kelley Lovelace.

Katie uses her music as a tool to bring to light topics that everyone can relate to but usually don't talk about - she strives to bring her listeners back to their own truths by speaking and living her own. She is influenced by artists like Ben Rector, Nahko & Medicine for the People, and Liz Longley, as well as the natural world, personal experiences, and the characteristics of our society.

Katie’s music can be found on all major digital music platforms. Her first full-length album, Something Different, was released on all digital platforms May 25th, 2017. In her own words, "Something Different is how I see the world we're all working towards - where peace and awareness for everything around us is abundant and everything is in balance. Where every person feels free to speak and live their truth. These songs are exactly that - they are my truth and my way of working to make this world better."
Heartside
Heartside
Heartside is a five piece progressive indie rock band based in Easton, MD. Drawing influence from emo, alt, and post-rock genres, they have been compared to bands such as Manchester Orchestra, Brand New, and HRVRD.

Having only been together since late-2015, Heartside has already established a dedicated local fanbase that consistently travels to support the band’s regional shows. At the same time, they’ve cultivated strong followings in the Washington DC, Northern Delaware, and Philadelphia areas. The band's rapid growth can be attributed to their passionate live performances and emotionally honest songwriting that are both sure to continue.
