Eddie Bruce: Remembering The Latin Casino
Eddie Bruce: Remembering The Latin Casino
Acclaimed singer, cabaret artist and bandleader Eddie Bruce hits the stage in a dynamic and unique new show, “Remembering The Latin Casino.” In this electrifying, multi-media presentation, complete with a swinging, big jazz band, Eddie pays homage to one of the legendary nightclubs in show business, The Latin Casino. The Latin nightclub, the biggest and best known nightspot in Philadelphia history, presented, from 1960 to 1978, just about every star of music and comedy in the entertainment business, including Frank Sinatra, Harry Belafonte, Jimmy Durante, Johnny Mathis Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin, Richard Pryor, Jerry Lewis, Lena Horne, Pearl Bailey, Louis Armstrong, Debbie Reynolds, and dozens of others. By way of song, videos, photographs and stories, Eddie Bruce will fondly recall a swinging, ring-a-ding-dinging era of stars and glamour that was the essence of The Latin Casino.

Eddie Bruce has performed tributes to Tony Bennett, The Best of Broadway, Frank Sinatra, Anthony Newley and many others before sold out houses at Feinstein’s in New York City, Resorts Hotel/Casino in Atlantic City, the Ambler Act II Playhouse, Prince Musical Theater, Suzanne Roberts Theatre, Chris’ Jazz Café’, and Dino’s Backstage in Philadelphia; and at points South and West with The Philly Pops, Ocean City Pops, and the Hershey Symphony. His orchestra, a sizable and impressive ensemble that has performed at hundreds of charitable and corporate events, society galas and private affairs for decades, has taken on legendary status. In speaking about Eddie’s Tony Bennett tribute show, Philly Pops Conductor/Musical Director Michael Krajewski said, Eddie is “a wonderful singer. His tribute to Tony Bennett is second to none because it’s filled with authenticity, respect, passion, and superb musicianship.”
